Under the mantra, “We want to be in your home,” owner Veronica Fly and her daughter, store manager, Cheyenne Castilleja provide an incredible customer experience. Veronica’s faith is no secret to her customers who are often drawn in by the peaceful atmosphere, and faith-based signs reflected around her store. Veronica has vowed to use her store to share her faith after a family tragedy became a blessing in disguise.
On New Year’s Eve in 2015, the Fly’s family home was destroyed in a raging fire, causing them to lose everything, from furniture to precious memories. With hope, faith, and determination, the Fly’s rebuilt their home and began to shop for their furniture and home decor. Being inspired by the rustic farmhouse, French country, modern farmhouse, and other rustic styles, the family found themselves frustrated after spending many weekends shopping out of town to find what they were looking for.
They quickly realized the need for a local store selling the rustic styles they traveled to find. With 25 years of experience in retail giants, their desire to own their own business, and the full support of her husband Mark, Veronica pursued the opportunity that is now Dirt Road Rustics. Veronica and Cheyenne enjoy working together as a mother-daughter team and pour their passion and love into the quickly growing store. Together, they handpick each item they sell in store and jump at every opportunity to help their customers take their Dirt Road Rustics experience into their own home. Only four years old in August of 2021, Dirt Road Rustics has been voted Best of the Brazos in Home Decor since 2018 and Best Furniture Retailer since 2020.
